What this site collects about visitors (very little) and why.

By [Pete Harvey](https://homecomfortlab.co.uk/about/), editor. Updated 14 October 2026.

Home Comfort Lab is a set of static pages. There are no accounts, no forms that send your details anywhere, and no advertising trackers.

## What we collect

- **Visitor statistics.** We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. Cloudflare says it doesn't use cookies or local storage to track visitors, and doesn't fingerprint individuals.
- **Server logs.** Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard logs, such as IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.
- **Calculators.** Everything you type into a calculator stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to us.

## Fonts

Fonts are served from this site, not from Google or any other third party.

## When you follow a link to Amazon

Amazon sets its own cookies so it can credit us with any purchase, under Amazon's own privacy notice. That happens on Amazon's site, not ours.

## If you email us

We keep your email and our reply so we can answer you and follow up. We don't add you to any mailing list, and we don't share your details with anyone. Ask us and we'll delete them. Pete Harvey runs Home Comfort Lab and is responsible for any personal details it holds. If you're unhappy with how we've handled them, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Links to shops are marked, and earning from them never decides what we recommend. [How this site is paid for](https://homecomfortlab.co.uk/affiliate-disclosure/).

Running costs use 26.32p per kWh for electricity and 7.97p per kWh for gas, the [Ofgem price cap, Direct Debit average for England, Scotland and Wales](https://ofgem.gov.uk/news/changes-energy-price-cap-between-1-october-and-31-december-2026) for 1 October to 31 December 2026.
