# Affiliate disclosure

How this site earns money from links to Amazon and other shops, and what that does and does not change.

By [Pete Harvey](https://homecomfortlab.co.uk/about/), editor. Updated 14 October 2026.

## What that means

Some links on this site go to Amazon UK. If you follow one and buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage of what you spend. You pay the same price as you would going to Amazon directly.

Links to shops are always labelled, for example "View on Amazon". They pass through an address on this site starting with `/go/`, which lets us update a link in one place if a product changes. It then sends you straight to Amazon.

## What it doesn't change

- We choose products by their specifications and by what suits each situation, not by commission.
- We recommend free fixes first wherever they work, and say when buying something won't solve the problem.
- No brand pays to appear on this site or to be recommended.

## Other shops

In future we may also link to other retailers or to brands' own shops through affiliate programmes. This page will list them when we do.
